Tsunami...

I received an email from my brother regarding the disaster that has strucked the Asian region some time last year. That was on Sunday, the 26th of Dec 2004. Although my country, Malaysia is not badly affected as Indonesia and Sri Lanka, but I do feel sad and sorry for all the victims involved. What a tragic loss to lose all your family members in one shot....I can't imagine if that happens to me...Anyway, my concern about the email is that all the help that is pouring in is not being given to the victims. What they show on TV is just for the sake of the viewers. They showed that the houses were equipped with washing machine, TV set, sofa, bed and etc....very well equipped...but the matter of fact is....they are not...the sender of the email who went there to see on his own was surprised by the response given by one of the people there...they are taking back all the furnitures, TV, sofa and whatsoever...they are left with only matress, a few kilos of sugar and gas for cooking...that's all...can you imagine that?what about the aid that worth millions as promised by the government?what about the help given by the generous Malaysians?the question here is, where is the money? it's pity that they lost their homes and shelters...cars and motorcycles...but when they receive help, is that all that we can contribute? please don't worsen their agony...let them have what being promised and let them lead a normal live again....
