feeling tired...

My small research grant was approved sometime early this month by the director....what a relieve....pheww...i have been waiting for this since february....at last...it was approved...had a mixed feeling...excited because this is my first time doing a project on my own...happy because my proposal was accepted....and also in fear of failure....my boss is having a high expectation on me....i just hope that i don't screw this up...

After receiving the letter saying that my proposal was approved, I contacted my collaborator to confirm that the project is on...this made me so nervous because the collaborator turned out to be my boss's wife....scary.....i didn't know that she is my boss's wife until my friend confirmed it...that is why i have been so suspicious of my boss when he suggested the person who can collaborate with me for my project...and now, i already have the answer...he wants to make it easy for me...

Nevertheless, the first field survey which involved taking student's hair samples and the questionnaire session was a chaotic one i supposed...just imagine, someone who has never cut other people's hair before has to cut the hair of subjects for the study...i was thrilled at first...and also the urge from the students who wanted their hair to be cut fast made it difficult for me...luckily i did bring my friend along to help...and so, she cut the guys' hair while i cut the girls' hair...the second sampling was much faster than the first one as I have already know how to cut the hair....the third up to the fifth sampling also were very smooth as i can say that i am already an expert to take the hair samples...

What surprised me most was that my boss made a surprise visit on my third sampling...he turned up all of a sudden....he did not introduce his wife at all although i already knew that my collaborator is his wife....i was very nervous when he was around.....although it went smoothly, but i did tremble when i was taking the hair....whatever it is, i do appreciate his visit...it means that he is concern and aware of my project....he has also shown a keen interest even when the project has not started....i am grateful to have such a great boss who likes to encourage me....although he pushes me hard sometimes....yeah....finally the sampling is over and now the next phase is yet to begin...the hair analysis....argghhh...hate that part actually.....
